Photo Thursday: The Beauty of Spring Snow

Spring has been late to arrive in Minnesota this year, but it has reminded me that you need not travel far to find beautiful photos.

These were taken two days ago near my home. Today this snow is almost entirely gone, as it is more ephemeral (and thus even more beautiful?) than the cherry blossoms that will (eventually) burst into bloom.
This is my contribution to Travel Photo Thursday at Nancie's Budget Traveler's Sandbox. Head on over and see what she's posted this week and then follow the links to images from around the world.

  1. Hi Cindy, those are stunning photos. I particularly love the photo of the snowy tree against the red wall; what a beautiful contrast.

  2. I appreciate your optimism, but I will always be thankful I moved south -- away from spring snow! Lovely photos!

    1. I guess if winter is goign to drag on, I should at least be greatful that it is beautiful! Now it has suddenly gotten warm, but everything is brown and mushy looking - bring on the flowers.

  6. We have never lived in a snowy place so I am always intrigued by snow photos. I love the look of them, but I wonder if I could live with it. Of course we have had skiing holiday - but that's different :) The photographs are beautiful - I cannot choose a favourite they are all excellent.

  7. Just love it when the snow is on branches like that. Although I also know that winter is long enough in the Midwest without snow in April. Beautiful pics.
