America’s Taco Shop (named for owner America Corrales), would be easy to drive right by – another taco place in a city filled with them.
However, driving by would be a mistake, as the small menu is filled with tasty delights. Choices are mostly restricted to Carne Asada (steak soaked in a citrus marinade and grilled over an open flame), Al Pastor (slow roasted, citrus marinated pork, served with fresh pineapple) and citrus marinated chicken. For variety, you can have your selection served as a taco, burrito, torta, quesadilla or a vampiro. (Ceviche, guacamole, and several sides are also available.)
The food is delicious. It’s easy to see why this is a busy spot for Saturday lunch!
And, since it is Saturday (and the start of a quick vacation) what could better accompany lunch than a Caribbean margarita with ground Serrano pepper instead of salt?
