Pilgrim’s Rest

We stop for lunch (or shopping, as we aren’t given time for both) in the preserved gold mining town of Pilgrim’s Rest It turns out to be a cute historic site comprised largely of restored tin buildings, which is quite cool. (Tin was a popular building material because you could take it apart and move your building when it was time to move on.) It is exactly the kind of place I like, with quaint buildings and fun shops in a lovely setting . . . and a delicious local trout salad available at the Royal Hotel.
All I needed was a little more time in which to check it all out.
