More Bridges

Previous post: Gallery Hopping

College roommate Michele is taking the train down from Seattle to meet me for the weekend, so I probably should figure out where the train station is.

As it turns out, it is only a short walk from the hotel, so I have lots of time before her train is due in. . .

. . . and it just happens there is an enticing bridge nearby.

The Broadway Bridge is a complicated 1913 bascule beauty that serves as a major route both for passenger vehicles and bicycles.

Of course, the view from the bridge isn’t bad either, allowing good views of old industrial buildings and bridges – particularly the Fremont Interstate Bridge and the Steel Bridge.

What a great city.
