Hope at the End of the Day

Previous post: Along the Way

Hope, Alaska, was a gold rush boom town in the 1890s. Today, it is a scenic isolated village comprised of smattering of historic buildings – some in everyday use, others falling into decay – and a few newer, but still modest structures. It's a weird mix of the authentic and the kitschy.

The location is stunning, nestled at the foot of the mountains alongside the Turnagain Arm.

A fairy tale place in which to end the day.
