A Virtual Trip to Petra

We were talking about Petra last night and how we would like to go there some time.

This morning I found a note in my email announcing a new World Heritage Tour 360 tour featuring Petra!

Now I at can least can do a little touring from home. Of course, this makes me even more eager to actually get there myself. . .

Why Travel?

Pico Iyer is one of my favorite writers and his recent piece for the New York Times' Jet Lagged section nicely puts the ups and downs of air travel in perspective. His closing paragraph says so much so well in reminding us that we:
. . . are among the lucky few able to see the global neighborhood, and try to make sense of it, to meet our planetary neighbors, as my grandparents could barely have dreamed of doing. The unfriendliest skies in the world are better than no skies at all.

We're Going to Paris!

For real this time. It's booked.

Northwest had a springtime air/hotel deal that was too good to pass up. Besides, we'll both be much in need of a vacation by then!

Yay! I'm so excited. After all, it has been almost exactly 25 years since I last was in Paris -- and even then I was only there for three hours or so.
